Kuo claims that all the MacBook 2020 refresh will come equipped with scissor keyboard. The upcoming 16-inch MacBook Pro is expected to be the first Mac with a scissor-switch keyboard. In the previous report, Kuo had claimed that Apple will make the switch in fall this year and the MacBook Air will be the first one to get scissor-switch.
Furthermore, the report also predicts that with the onset of iPadOS, iPad Smart Keyboard will be used by more people. Apple is trying to position the iPad as a mobile computing unit and this is the premise of iPadOS. The report also mentions how customers upgrading from Windows notebooks might consider buying the iPad with Smart Keyboard.
Our Take
The butterfly keyboards have proved that they are unreliable and troublesome. Apple recently extended Keyboard Repair Program for all the Mac’s with butterfly keys. Keyboard issues ranged from character repeat, inconsistent response and keys going kaput. The company tried fixing the issue on the latest MacBook Pro and added a silicone membrane under each key. The membrane was placed to stop debris from entering. However, the improvisation didn’t stand the test of time. Also read:mp3 torrent

Scissor Switches use plastic hinges over a membrane and offer shorter travel times, and better response to keystrokes. Hopefully, this should help Apple get rid of the keyboard menace and offer peace of mind for future customers.
